There are still a lot of king salmon in the river. Steelhead and trout fishing have been very good when drifting egg flies, beads and nymphs behind the spawning salmon and some steelhead are also being caught on swung flies.
I had a chance to get out and fish Monday and Tuesday this week. Monday was really slow but yesterday things seemed to really pick up, we saw more salmon in an hour and a half than I have all year, it really seemed to turn on overnight. There were a lot of fish on […]
Raven’s Helix is an incredible bargain for a very well built centerpin reel. They introduced it last year but it was only available with the bright blue back plate, which many loved but some thought was a bit “loud”. This year they introduced 2 new color options with a black back plate, gold and silver. […]

The Salmon are making there way in. The river is currently holding a lot of fish. I’ve been getting a lot of call asking “are they on gravel yet” and the short answer is no (although if you looked hard enough you may find a couple). The good news is that unlike the gravel fish, […]
With last nights rain the water is up (currently flowing @1710CFS) but still awfully warm. Hopefully with some more rain and cooler temperatures we start to see the salmon run really pick up. There have been good reports from those fishing kings on Muskegon Lake so things should pick up very soon. There have been […]
